  • Is Luther Crest an assisted living facility? 
No. Luther Crest is a rent-subsidized retirement community for persons age 62 and over and the mobility-impaired of all ages, who can care for their self and their apartments that meet the income criteria of HUD.
 
  • What do I need to do to be considered? 
There is an application process and a waiting list. To be considered you may stop by the Luther Crest rental office Monday thru Thursday from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M., Friday, 9 A.M. to 12 Noon to pick up or fill out an application. You may also phone the office at 540-740-8591 and request an application be mailed to you. Upon receipt of a completed application, it is dated and time stamped, processed to verify eligibility and placed on our waiting list.
 
  • Does Luther Crest provide meals? 
Luther Crest does not provide daily meals, however, we do have a monthly birthday covered dish dinner and the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging provides “meals on wheels” for some of our residents. In addition the Reformation Lutheran Church hosts a meal each Thursday and Luther Crest provides transportation to that location for anyone that needs it. In addition to the above noted functions and services the residents of the Luther Crest community pull together and have covered dish meals throughout the month and year.
   
  • Does Luther Crest offer transportation? 
Luther Crest does have a van and offers a regular transport schedule for shopping, the local monthly food pantry and for the meals at Reformation Lutheran Church. Staffing does not allow us to provide to transport for individual doctors’ appointments, however, if enough notice is given to the office we can make some exceptions when a family member cannot assist you.
